Grape Variety: Merlot

 

Region: Location Skalani, Kounavi, Heraklion.

 

Terroir: Selected non-irrigated hillside vineyards of Royat trim. Argil calcareous soil. Mild winters, dry summers.

 

 


Oenology: Picking and transporting of the grapes in small plastic containers. Extraction period of 3-4 days. Alcoholic fermentation in automated stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 18-25°C after inoculation with selected yeast strains for the varietal aromas of the Merlot to unfold.

 

Personality: Shiny ruby color. Intense aromas with notes of red fruits like plum, cherry and gooseberry. Mouthful with fine and rounded tannins and pleasant long lasting aftertaste.
