RED WINES
ANTAMA

Grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon & Kotsifali, Organic

Region: Genniana for Cabernet Sauvignon, Archanes for Kotsifali.

Terroir: Altitude of 450-500m, non-irrigated mountainside vineyards, argil calcareous soil of low fertility, Royat trim, yield of 45-52hl/ha.  The vines originate from vineyards of over 10 years that give a wine of very round body. Especially during summer there are north winds creating a cool environment, protecting them from the intense sunlight and the increase of temperature.

Oenology: Extraction in French oak tanks for 8-10 days and maturation for 5 months in French oak barriques (225lt), followed by bottling in order for the red fruits aromas to stand out as a result from the reductive ageing in the bottle.

Name: A traditional Greek variety and a cosmopolitan one can meet and walk together (=antama) towards harmony and age-long unfoldment.

Personality: Deep red colour with purple reflections. Its delicate red fruit is gently touched by the oak’s vanilla as also nuances of leather and liquorice. Its taste has soft tannins, delicious acidity and very pleasant aftertaste.
