WHITE WINES
'ANASSA

Grape varieties: Vilana & Sauvignon Blanc

Region: Location Tholi, Peza, Heraklion.

Terroir: Altitude over 500m, non-irrigated vineyards (slopes of 10%), argil clay soil, bushlike trim, yield of 45-52hl/ha. Especially during summer there are north winds that create a cool environment, protecting the vineyards from long sunshine duration.

Oenology: Fermentation in oak barrels and maturation “sur lies” for 13 months in French oak barriques. The bottling takes place at least two years after harvest. Long ageing potential, exceeding the period of 10 years.

Name: The cornice of the white wines from Mediterra, as its name reveals. ‘Anassa is the Queen in ancient Greek.

Personality: Shiny golden-yellow colour and aromas of white flowers, candied and citrus fruits.  Opulent and oily taste, with decent acidity, rich in aromas of yellow fruits and vanilla.
